Kevin McDearis is a proven business and technology innovator with global experience across diverse industries. As executive vice president and chief technology officer at Blackbaud, he is responsible for the strategy, engineering, data, AI, and operations of the company’s global product and technology portfolio.

Since joining Blackbaud in 2014, Kevin has helped lead the company’s move to a cloud-based recurring revenue model. He and his teams built the SKY platform and established the reliability practices behind systems through which customers in more than 100 countries raise, grant, or invest more than $100 billion each year.

Kevin and his leadership team are now focused on Blackbaud’s cloud-native, AI-first connected platform and Agents for Good™ suite, including the Development Agent, the first expert agent embedded in a platform built for social impact. His remit spans how Blackbaud builds software with AI, the AI embedded in its products, and the governance behind both.

Kevin championed the development of the AI Coalition for Social Impact, convened by Blackbaud with partners including Anthropic, McKinsey & Company, and Databricks to remove the barriers to confident and responsible AI adoption. Its free certification program drew thousands of registrations within weeks. He credits this pace to the leadership team he has built.

Before Blackbaud, Kevin was chief information officer at Manhattan Associates, where he led the global technology organization and reduced the company’s risk profile while delivering measurable savings. Earlier, as a senior leader at Fiserv (formerly CheckFree), he helped pioneer the online bill pay capabilities on which millions rely.

Kevin has served on nonprofit boards supporting economic growth, women in technology, and STEM education. Since July 2025 he has chaired the board of the USS Yorktown Foundation, which supports the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum. He served on the board of the Technology Association of Georgia from 2011 to 2016, including as vice-chair. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
