Blackbaud SONI (State of the Not-For-Profit Industry) survey

Ever wonder how other not-for-profits are faring during these uncertain times? Have most kept their donors or had success with new outreach strategies?

To find out we asked, In association with the Resource Alliance, over 1,500 not-for-profits from nine countries to share their management strategies as well as changes they anticipate in the future. Conducted annually since 2004, the State of the Nonprofit Industry Survey provides a barometer for the sector’s success and optimism. Challenged with an increased demand for services, yet having stagnant funding streams, not-for-profits are tasked to retain current donors as well as explore interactive technologies to attract new donors.

We looked at these challenges, fundraising trends and use of mobile technologies to compile a broad view of the industry. Specifically, the report provides a deeper look at staff recruitment, new donor attainment and retention, fundraising trends, online giving and use of mobile technology.

Did you know?

  • Your reputation and mission could help you recruit the best talent
  • Most respondents expect their use of mobile technology to more than double in the next year
  • Many not-for-profits are using referrals from existing donors to discover new ones
  • One of the fastest growing fundraising methods is peer-to-peer fundraising
