Blackbaud SONI (State of the Not-For-Profit Industry) survey

Ever wonder how other not-for-profits are faring during these uncertain times? Have most kept their donors or had success with new outreach strategies?

To find out we asked, In association with the Resource Alliance, over 1,500 not-for-profits from nine countries to share their management strategies as well as changes they anticipate in the future. Conducted annually since 2004, the State of the Nonprofit Industry Survey provides a barometer for the sector’s success and optimism. Challenged with an increased demand for services, yet having stagnant funding streams, not-for-profits are tasked to retain current donors as well as explore interactive technologies to attract new donors.

We looked at these challenges, fundraising trends and use of mobile technologies to compile a broad view of the industry. Specifically, the report provides a deeper look at staff recruitment, new donor attainment and retention, fundraising trends, online giving and use of mobile technology.

2011 State of the Not-for-Profit Industry

Blackbaud has conducted its State of the Not-for-Profit Industry survey annually for seven of the past eight years. The study asks not-for-profit leaders to report on some of the management strategies they’re using, and the degree to which they anticipate changes in their organisations this year and next.

The Blackbaud Index

The Blackbaud Index of Charitable Giving and The Blackbaud Index of Online Giving are updated on the 15th of each month and are based on a three-month moving average of year-over-year percent changes in revenue. They represent the most comprehensive and timely sources of charitable giving available.

2011 donorCentrics Internet and Multichannel Giving Benchmark Report

The 2011 donorCentrics Internet and Multichannel Giving Benchmark Report is the third publication of the ongoing Target Analytics Internet Giving Benchmarking study, which has been analysing giving data from major North American not-for-profits since 2006. This year’s analysis covers 15.6 million donors and more than $1.16 billion dollars in revenue.

Index of National Fundraising Performance

The Target Analytics Index of National Fundraising Performance analyses direct marketing giving for many of the largest not-for-profit organisations in the country, and is updated on a quarterly basis.

Peer-to-Peer Event Fundraising Consumer Survey

In 2011, Blackbaud and the Run Walk Ride Fundraising Council conducted an online survey of individuals who have participated in at least one walk, ride, or run event in the last two years.
