The League Against Cruel Sports

Uses Blackbaud Application Hosting Services to Increase Flexibility

Established in 1924, the League Against Cruel Sports is a charity that brings together people who want to stop cruelty to animals in the name of sport.  The Charity successfully uses lawful investigations, campaigning and lobbying to make a difference in the UK and around the world.

  • League Against Cruel Sports had taken the decision to relocate over 40 miles away, which meant transferring all equipment and staff to the new location, which would see some staff having an increased commute.
  • Because of this the Charity decided to offer its staff the opportunity to take up a home-working package, instead of travelling to the office each day.
  • This posed a problem, in that staff working from home would need to access The Raiser’s Edge® remotely, which in its current set-up was not possible.

  • The Charity took the decision to use Blackbaud Application Hosting Services in order to move The Raiser’s Edge to a remotely hosted environment.
  • This meant that staff would be able to access The Raiser’s Edge via a web browser at any time of the day.

  • League Against Cruel sports has now not only solved its issues surrounding home-working but has also experienced a number of other benefits too.
  • The Charity now has so much more flexibility as staff are able to access The Raiser’s Edge at any time of day, from wherever they are, yet there is no compromise to levels of security.
  • They no longer have to carry out software upgrades themselves as it’s all taken care of by Blackbaud, meaning staff have more time to concentrate on raising funds.
