Kilbryde Hospice

Uses eTapestry to Streamline Fundraising Processes and Deliver Better Results

Kilbryde Hospice was formed in 2001 to address the lack of palliative care beds within the South Lanarkshire area in Scotland.  An appeal fund was created to raise sufficient money to build and run South Lanarkshire’s first in-patient hospice, which saw tremendous support from local residents, community groups and businesses.   Following the opening of a drop-in day hospice in 2008, Kilbryde Hospice is now in the position to build a £3million in-patient hospice to serve the people of South Lanarkshire.

  • With no fundraising infrastructure in place, volunteers and staff had originally relied on spreadsheets and lists to track and manage donors, volunteers and events.
  • It became evident that existing practices would need to be radically overhauled and as a result, an experienced fundraising manager was brought on board.

  • A major part of the hospice’s three year fundraising strategy was to introduce a dedicated fundraising database to address the problems experienced in the past.
  • Blackbaud’s eTapestry was chosen by the hospice to help take its fundraising efforts to the next level as it was cost effective, yet was sophisticated enough to manage all supporters, donors, volunteers and events.
  • There was also no requirement to invest in costly IT infrastructure as eTapestry is a cloud solution.

  • Fundraising activities at Kilbryde Hospice have been greatly assisted as a result of using eTapestry.
  • eTapestry has enabled the hospice to move from a virtually non-existant fundraising infrastructure to one where they work efficiently yet effectively.
  • Activities, donations and events are now managed through the system and staff can easily access accurate information as well as quickly running reports for analysis of specific campaigns or events.
