As usual we try to bring expert speakers from across the sector and this year is no exception. From technology to process and management this series of sessions will show how you can increase donor value and maximise the technology applications that improve your fundraising effectiveness.

Striving for Best Practise in Database Management - Ciara Bosworth, Head of Database Services, Shelter.
This session, run by our guest speaker Ciara Bosworth, will consider some of the elements of best practice for your database. Issues such as the need for data integrity, how often to cleanse, use of data enhancement and options for security will all be addressed as well as a few hints and tips to help you get the most from your Raiser’s Edge database and the data therein.

Making a business case - Iain Pritchard, Sayer Vincent
The right investment in information systems can be crucial but, for charities, the decision is often daunting. Many organisations hesitate in the face of what seem like complicated and risky choices. This session takes you through the steps in developing a business case for change that senior managers and trustees will be able to understand, evaluate and commit to.

You will hear how to apply mobile and email marketing rules; how cookies can be legally deployed and what information needs to be in your privacy policy. Find out how you can optimize registration to get the right permissions and how to make sure your electronic communications don’t get SPAMMED.

The Fundraising Communities of Tomorrow - Simon Burne, Think Consulting 
This session will look at how communities are changing and evolving with Web 2.0 and how they can be galvanised into fundraising action. Simon promises to inspire delagates with some practical ideas on how to develop fundraising from new communities.

Evaluating Lifetime Value - John Baguley, International Fundraising Consultancy 
The session looks at the difficult but vital task of measuring the lifetime value of donors. Delegates will learn about the evaluating techniques pioneered The Medical Foundation, and how to apply them to your own organisation.  

Digital and Direct. Why aren't they working together yet? - Reuben Turner, The Good Agency 
A look at the opportunity for digital and direct marketing to work together to deliver efficient communications and an inspiring, coherent supporter experience. And a bit of a rant about why this isn't happening. Delegates will learn ideas on ways to integrate digital and direct marketing in your organisation.

Maximising Donor Development - Kevin Kibble, The Supporter Development Team
Recruiting donors is expensive so existing donors must be retained and relationships developed to maximise income. Kevin Kibble will provide a simple model to prioritise donors and a toolkit for an effective communications strategy to maximise lifetime donor development.

So You Think You Know Everything About Email Fundraising - Michael Kaufman, Vismail
This session aims to go back to basics, and will look at all aspects of setting up and implementing successful email campaigns, we will focus on appeals, events and email newsletters. With specific focus on building the list, design of the email, technology available, data capture, deployment and ROI’s. We will cover spam and ISP issues, and will look at how to get through as many firewalls as possible as well as the major threats to your campaigns.
